    Meet the Director:

Silvia Mason has over 30 years experience in the Early Childhood Education area. She started working at The Learning Tree for the previous owner while she was in

High School. Eager to improve her education, Silvia took

time off to finish her schooling, earning a Bachelor's

Degree from CSUDH. After becoming a mother of 2, Silvia returned to doing what she loved and re-joined The Learning Tree Preschool as the Assistant Director. After many years of dedication, in June of 2013, Silvia purchased The Learning Tree and is now the current owner and Director. Being a mother, a local resident, and developing many relationships with families over the years, Silvia knows what it takes to foster the growth and development of the children in our community.



The Learning Tree Preschool has been serving this local area for over 45 years. The previous owner of the school began as a teacher at its original location. Silvia Mason, our Owner and Director was a student there as well. After the previous owner purchased the school, she had the current location designed and built. We have since been at our current location for over 35 years. We have been fortunate to have many generations of families come to our school. The Learning Tree has become more than a Preschool. It has become a family. We cherish the relationships we have built with our families both past and present. We have many former graduates of the Learning Tree now sending their children here continuing the tradition.



We believe that children should be allowed to grow at their own pace and to learn in ways that help them become confident in themselves as individuals. Our goal is to provide all of the children with a clean, safe, comfortable and nurturing environment. We believe in the value of both structured and non-structured activities. Structured activities will include the use of a preschool curriculum, regular reading times, circle times, arts and crafts, and musical activities. Outdoor play and center times are also offered as more flexible and non-structured activities. It is our goal to create an environment and program where the child's natural desire to learn is stimulated through meaningful, appropriate, and playful learning experiences that meet the needs of each child as an individual.
